Jaylen Brown is bringing his 7uice partnership with BAPE to sneaker buyers with a limited release that starts in Philadelphia before going online.
The 7uice x BAPE STA will debut October 17 at Lapstone & Hammer, where Brown plans to meet fans. Online sales start October 18 through 7uice’s website, according to the announcement his representatives sent Monday.
The release gives buyers a chance to own a shoe from a partnership Brown has already worn himself. His earlier BAPE project included a custom pair made just for him, along with a jacket bearing both brands’ logos.
“I’ve been a fan of BAPE® for a long time, so having the opportunity to create something together is special,” Brown said in the release. “I’m honored to collaborate with a brand that has had such an impact on culture, and I’m excited that we get to introduce this project in Philadelphia and experience the moment directly with the fans.”
The brands say they won’t restock the sneakers after they sell out. The announcement did not give a price or say how many pairs will go on sale, leaving those details open ahead of the weekend launch.
Brown’s link with BAPE predates this drop. In February 2024, he brought out a silver, one-of-one BAPE STA during NBA All-Star Weekend. Sneaker News documented that pair and a matching co-branded varsity jacket, reporting that the pieces were limited to Brown’s own collection at the time. The new announcement puts a retail release on the calendar.
For Hip-Hop fans, BAPE’s name carries a history well beyond basketball. Pharrell Williams and Clipse helped introduce the Japanese label to U.S. audiences by wearing its clothes and putting it in their music. Kanye West and Pharrell later joined the artists creating designs for the brand’s 20th anniversary in 2013.
Brown has also taken part in BAPE’s mix of rap and fashion. He attended its 30th-anniversary show at New York’s Terminal 5 in June 2023, where Lil Baby, Coi Leray and Lola Brooke performed.
His Philadelphia appearance is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on October 17, with the online release set for the following day.
