Kai Cenat Sets Japan Return With Ray For October 21

Kai Cenat set an October 21 Japan stream with Ray, the friend he first met in the country in 2023. He rolled out the trip with a skit that nodded to their first chat on a Tokyo street.

The two-minute “Returning To Japan | Official Trailer” went up on Kai Cenat Live on Sunday. Its description sent fans to a scheduled stream called “RETURNING TO JAPAN W/ RAY.”

The skit played up car talk and a character dubbed “Bankroll Ray.” It also recalled their first chat at a Tokyo 7-Eleven. By the end, the script called for a flight back to Japan and “a little reset.”

In a GQ Taiwan interview last year, Ray looked back on that meeting in the summer of 2023.

Ray was on a school trip in Japan when he learned Cenat was streaming nearby. He followed clues from the broadcast to find him and asked for a photo. The encounter played out live for Cenat’s viewers. He told GQ he had only wanted a picture. He feared he might never get another chance to meet Cenat.

Ray told GQ he saw Cenat and the AMP crew as brothers. He said their bond off camera matched what fans saw on stream.

Cenat invited Ray to the United States to make content, then went to Taiwan himself. Local broadcaster FTV covered his visit with Ray in February 2024. They stopped in Taipei’s Ximending and Xinyi areas. Fans brought food and gifts as Cenat streamed his travels.

The pair also took their chemistry into a short film. They starred in the 2023 short “Global Pursuit,” an action comedy built around two cops and a sting. TV Guide’s cast listing credited Cenat as Miller and Ray as Shadow. The film drew on the “Rush Hour” setup made famous by Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.

Ray later made room for Cenat in his GQ Sports “10 Essentials” appearance, released in March 2025.

“My next essential, Kai,” he said. He recalled meeting Cenat near a 7-Eleven in Japan. He summed up how far they had come: “here we are now.”

Their next shared stream is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, on Kai Cenat Live.
