Kevin Gates Shrugs Off Dreka’s $1M-Plus Catalog Order

Kevin Gates said he had no hard feelings about sharing proceeds from his music catalog with estranged wife Dreka Gates, saying he had given far more to people he loved.

On “The TMZ Podcast” this week, Gates compared a portion of the sale money with the whole world he said he had been willing to give a loved one.

“I ain’t mad at nothing.”

TMZ reported that the order directed $929,341.50 in child and spousal support and another $150,000 to Dreka from catalog proceeds.

Asked when the relationship stopped working, he said people could take different paths and reconnect if that was meant to happen.

Earlier, Gates said he valued marriage and liked being a good husband. He entered relationships hoping they would work rather than fail.

He also said he tried to keep loved ones out of public discussion when asked about confusion over his marital status.

Gates had previously disputed whether their marriage was legally recognized. He said they held an Islamic ceremony but never completed the legal paperwork needed to make the marriage official. The two had presented themselves as husband and wife for years before he challenged that status.

Dreka filed for divorce in Los Angeles on July 30, 2025, citing irreconcilable differences, according to People, which obtained her petition. She listed July 10, 2025 as their separation date. The filing placed their wedding in October 2015.

Her petition asked for joint legal and physical custody of their children, Islah and Khaza. She also sought spousal support and payment of her attorney fees, putting both parenting arrangements and financial support before the court.

AllHipHop previously reported that Dreka sought $73,467 a month in support. That request broke down into $46,274 for spousal support and $27,193 for child support.

The split also involved a working partnership. As AllHipHop previously reported, Dreka had played a role in Gates’ career and business operations during their relationship.

Elsewhere in the interview, Gates described learning that being a provider meant more than buying things. He said his children cared about making cardboard forts with him and taught him that time together mattered more than toys.
