Kid Cudi Reveals Bloody Details About Horror Movie “Wrong Number”

Kid Cudi is moving fast behind the camera, and he has finally revealed details about his upcoming horror project.

The Grammy-winning artist just announced his second directorial feature in a year, and this time he’s jumping headfirst into horror territory with a thriller called “Wrong Number.”

According to Deadline, the project is currently in production in Los Angeles and features Barbie Ferreira as the lead opposite Kid Cudi himself.

The film centers on Ibn, a lonely self-help author whose life takes a dark turn when he meets a mysterious woman named Eliza.

What starts as an unexpected romance quickly spirals into a nightmare as Ibn becomes the target of an unseen stalker and finds himself as the prime suspect in a string of murders.

It’s the kind of twisted premise that horror fans live for, and Kid Cudi’s been teasing this exact move for months.

Back in August, he revealed his horror ambitions, posting on X that his next film would be “a horror/thriller. Lot of laughs, but its fuckin gnarly.”

The cast is stacked with talent.

Alongside Ferreira, known for her roles in “Euphoria,” “Faces of Death,” and “Nope,” the film includes Lucy Barrett, Dewayne Perkins, Clifton Powell, and Laura Harrier.

Kid Cudi is directing from his own script and composing the film’s score, which shows how invested he is in every layer of this project.

In his statement to Deadline, Kid Cudi made his vision crystal clear.

“A lot of people know that im a huge horror buff. And it was only a matter of time before I’d jump into the genre myself with my own stories,” he wrote. “WRONG NUMBER is a fun ride, an original story that has all the elements of an epic horror thriller, and I can’t wait for you all the experience it. So thankful to have this amazing cast and team with me on this wild journey. There will be blood!!”

He also emphasized the scope of what he’s building, saying, “Directing my second film in a year is unreal. I’m learning more and more each day and I’m just ready for the challenge. I’m hyped to see people become fans of my filmmaking in the same ways they are with my music.”

This follows his directorial debut “Doe,” an addiction drama that explores themes of survival and features Mark Webber, Leah McNamara, Brandon Scott, and Brandon Perea.

Both films are eyeing 2027 releases, which means Kid Cudi is essentially launching a full filmmaking career while maintaining his presence as an actor.

His recent screen credits include roles in “Happy Gilmore 2,” M. Night Shyamalan’s “Trap,” the “Sonic the Hedgehog” spin-off series “Knuckles” on Paramount+, and John Woo’s “Silent Night.”
