Kim Kardashian Can’t Stop Worrying About Kanye West

Kim Kardashian said she worried about Kanye West all day. In the new book “Citizen Kim,” she described the strain of raising their four kids.

“That’s the father of my kids, I’ll never not worry about him,” she told author Jonathan Van Meter.

She said she was still close to his family and welcomed them for dinner or time with the kids. She wanted the children to stay close to their dad.

Though her therapist urged her to set firm limits, she said she and West spoke little, clashed little and shared a hug when they met.

In the book, Kardashian also laid out house rules to shield their kids, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. Her “lockdown” text meant movies replaced TV. Music came from a phone in the car, with no radio, even SiriusXM, since hosts might discuss news.

Viking released the book October 27 under the full title “Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future.” The 352-page book drew on hundreds of hours of talks with Kardashian, plus dozens of her friends, family members and others close to her, the publisher said.

The book traces her rise through TV, fashion and business, along with her family life. Van Meter helped create Vibe, served as its first editor-in-chief, and has also written for Vogue and New York.

These efforts to shield the kids had roots well before the book. In AllHipHop’s December 2022 coverage of her “Angie Martinez IRL” talk, Kardashian said she stayed active in their school life. Teachers were among her close friends and helped her stay in the loop on what went on at lunch and recess.

The talk brought her to tears when she spoke of her late father, Robert Kardashian, and the good times she had with him. She wanted her own kids to have that bond with their dad, without bringing them news they had yet to hear.

Kardashian knew she couldn’t keep that news from them forever, but she hoped to shield them as long as she could.

She said her kids would one day thank her for choosing not to speak ill of their dad, despite their wild, public breakup.
