Latto joined Angel Reese at Chase Center after the Atlanta Dream’s first WNBA Finals win on October 19. The rapper had been due to play that same arena with Doja Cat that night.
The WNBA shared a clip of the pair posing near the court after Atlanta beat the Golden State Valkyries 79-65. Latto wore a red cap and black jacket as Reese put an arm around her for photos.
“THEY’RE SO ATL,” the league wrote. It posted the video at 10:50 P.M. Eastern on October 19, after the Dream tied the title series at one game each.
Reese scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the win. Atlanta had lost all 10 of its prior Finals games. The Dream had been swept in three past trips, then lost Saturday’s opener to Golden State.
Latto’s own date at the arena had changed before the game. Chase Center’s event page named her as Doja Cat’s special guest for the “Tour Ma Vie World Tour.” It said Golden State’s run to the Finals moved their show from October 19 to October 25. Tickets stayed valid for the new date.
Latto and Reese had ties long before the Finals. Reese appeared in the 2023 video for “Put It On Da Floor Again,” Latto’s song with Cardi B. Reese was still at LSU then, and Cardi’s verse referred to the school.
Latto also went to Reese’s WNBA debut in May 2024, when the Chicago Sky faced the Dallas Wings at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. In a courtside interview, Latto said she had come to watch Reese. She spoke up for women as more fans tuned in to the league.
“I’m here for the girl power period. Let’s go Angel Reese,” Latto said at the time.
This time, Reese played for Atlanta with a title at stake. Her team bounced back from a 68-64 loss in Game 1 and left the Bay Area with a split. Both clubs still sought their first league title.
The next two games were set for State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Game 3 was scheduled for October 21 at 8 P.M. Eastern. Latto and Doja Cat’s Chase Center show was listed for October 25.
