Lil Baby Says Learning About Politics Changed His Mind On Voting

Lil Baby is using his own political turnaround to reach people who still believe voting will not change anything.

In an Election Day conversation with Hot 107.9’s “Posted On The Corner,” the Atlanta rapper acknowledged that he once shared that view.

“Every vote counts and I was one of the people that actually believed that voting don’t do nothing for us,” he said.

The station posted the interview on November 4, one day after Election Day.

Lil Baby explained that growing older and learning more about politics and community power changed his thinking.

He said he hopes speaking openly about that change will encourage more people to take part.

This was not an overnight shift.

While discussing the election with V-103 in 2022, Lil Baby said his own lack of political education had shaped what he once believed.

“I know people don’t understand, cause I never was taught this. It’s like we actually do have more power than we think.”

He also urged listeners to research local races, where decisions can land closer to home, and stressed what organized voters can accomplish together.

The Election Day message also connects with the direction of Lil Baby’s work in Atlanta.

On October 17, he said he wanted his nonprofit giving to shift toward jobs and school systems after years of giveaways.

That work has included a $150,000 scholarship fund, but his latest plan is aimed at creating longer-term support.

His education push was visible in July, when Lil Baby’s Back to School Fest helped more than 4,000 Atlanta students prepare for the new school year.

At the time, he explained why the effort mattered to him: “Giving back to my city is everything. You need the right tools to build your future.”

The comment was about supplies and students, but it also showed the local focus behind his newer political stance.

Lil Baby did not present himself as someone who always trusted the system. He described a change that came from learning how local politics works and recognizing that people have more leverage when they act together.

His latest interview puts that evolution in front of listeners who may still be skeptical.

Lil Baby said he hopes his decision to encourage voting can make a difference among people who once felt the same way he did.
