Lil Durk Reportedly Sent To Solitary For “Talking Back”

Lil Durk was moved to solitary confinement Friday at Los Angeles’ Metropolitan Detention Center after allegedly questioning repeated cell searches, according to TMZ.

Sources told the outlet he was reprimanded for “talking back.” A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson said, “we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody.”

His lawyers had already challenged a long stretch in isolation earlier this year.

In January, attorney Christy O’Connor said Durk had spent 131 days in the special housing unit since August 29, 2025, over an allegedly unauthorized Apple Watch.

The defense asked for a hearing on those conditions and questioned the process used to keep him isolated. The lawyers described a schedule of 23 hours a day in his cell, one phone call a month and no in-person visits at that time.

“The deleterious effects of extended solitary confinement on an inmate’s psychological well-being are well-documented,” O’Connor said.

The latest housing report also came while Durk was seeking release following his September 11 acquittal on five murder-for-hire and stalking counts. He remained in custody on separate charges of murder in aid of racketeering and a firearm offense, to which he pleaded not guilty.

His defense asked Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald to reconsider detention and offered future royalties, publishing revenue, touring income and earnings from his name and image as security, alongside cash and property from supporters.

“Mr. Banks offers to encumber each of these future income streams,” his lawyers wrote in the bond proposal.

Sony also offered to guarantee an appearance bond of up to $1 million.

Andrea Robinson, the mother of Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson, said in a letter she would not object if the court determined bond was appropriate.

Jay-Z, J. Cole, Michael Rubin and Kim Foxx also submitted letters supporting release.

The remaining case concerns the August 19, 2022 shooting near Los Angeles’ Beverly Center that killed Lul Pab. Prosecutors alleged Quando Rondo was the intended target.

Judge Fitzgerald moved the second trial from October 5 to August 30, 2027, giving the defense more time to prepare.

That work included reviewing hundreds of gigabytes of evidence and roughly 30,000 pages of documents. Durk consented to the delay and waived his speedy-trial rights.
