Lil Durk Speaks To Youth After Not Guilty Verdict In Los Angeles Trial

Lil Durk landed a stunning win in a federal courtroom with a complete acquittal, and instead of celebrating his legal victory alone, he’s channeling that moment into a message for the next generation about breaking cycles and choosing a different path.

The Chicago rapper released a statement addressing young people directly, speaking to how environment shapes your thinking and your choices, but also how it doesn’t have to define your entire future.

“To the youth, I need y’all to hear me,” Durk wrote. “There were times in my life when I felt lost and couldn’t see beyond what was right in front of me. I know how deeply your environment and surroundings can influence the way you think, the choices you make, and what you believe is possible for your life, but they don’t have to determine who you become. Growth is real, and it’s never too late to choose a different direction.”

What made this moment resonate was that Durk spoke from lived experience, not from some distant platform. He continued with his vision for what comes next.

“My responsibility is to use my voice and my platform to build, motivate, and create more opportunities for the next generation,” he said. “That work didn’t start today, and it won’t stop here. Choose your future. Choose your family. Choose growth. I’m standing with y’all. We’re moving forward with purpose.”

On September 11, 2026, a jury found Durk not guilty on all federal charges, including conspiracy, stalking using a dangerous weapon, stalking resulting in death, and two counts of murder-for-hire.

The case centered on an August 2022 shooting near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles where Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson, cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, was killed.

Prosecutors claimed Durk orchestrated the hit, but after three days of deliberation, the jury rejected that narrative completely.

His co-defendants Deandre “OTF Dede” Wilson and David “Browneyez” Lindsey were convicted of stalking and conspiracy to commit stalking but acquitted of murder-for-hire charges.

The victory doesn’t mean his legal troubles are over, though.

Durk remains in custody facing a separate federal racketeering trial scheduled for October 5, 2026, where he’ll confront charges of Murder in Aid of Racketeering Activity (VICAR) and related firearms offenses.

His legal team is expected to file for bond this week and may push to have the VICAR charges dismissed based on the recent acquittal.
