Lil Uzi Vert is taking command of Fortnite’s Stronghold for a 24-hour Captain’s Day event built around a boss fight, a custom weapon and a pint-sized Sprite.
Epic Games announced that the Philadelphia rapper becomes this week’s boss on Sunday (November 8). The event begins at 9 A.M. ET and runs for one day, giving players a limited window to challenge Uzi and claim the new loot.
“A new captain sails in with new loot!” Epic said in its event notice.
Defeating the boss can unlock Lil Uzi Vert’s Lil’ SMG, which fires faster the longer a player holds the trigger. The weapon also adds a movement-speed boost, giving the reward a practical use beyond the celebrity crossover.
The takeover also introduces the Lil Uzi Vert Jr. Sprite. Restoring shields with the character triggers a Chug Splash effect, while special Sprite variants will drop more often during the event.
Cursed Sprites begin appearing in the wild at the same time, and a second Map Fragment joins the season’s treasure hunt.
Fortnite has been rolling out its Treasure Hunters season through a rotating lineup of captains. The Straw Hats and A$AP Rocky led the opening week before Uzi’s arrival. Cap’n Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto are also scheduled to enter the rotation as the season moves forward.
The season is set on an 80-player Crossbones Isle filled with One Piece locations and powers. Captain’s Days add new weapons and Sprites on selected dates, while other recurring events change drop rates and rewards.
That setup makes Uzi’s appearance part of the season’s weekly progression, not a permanent map change.
Uzi’s Captain’s Day role is separate from the rapper’s Item Shop arrival. Epic has listed the Lil Uzi Vert shop release for November 12, four days after the Stronghold takeover begins. The company has not announced a price for the cosmetic release.
The crossover puts Uzi inside one of gaming’s biggest live worlds at a moment when Fortnite is leaning heavily into music, anime and celebrity characters.
For players, the immediate stakes are simple: find the boss, win the fight and collect the limited-time weapon and Sprite before the 24-hour window closes.
