Lil Yachty Joins Kilby Block Party 2027 Headliners

Lil Yachty was named one of six headliners for Kilby Block Party 2027, putting him on the bill for the Utah festival’s May 14-16 return.

The lineup announced October 28 also includes Deftones, Fontaines D.C., The Strokes, Slayyyter and Jungle at the top. The three-day event will take place at Utah State Fairpark in Salt Lake City.

Three-day general admission passes cost $245, while VIP passes cost $409, according to Deseret News. They go on sale October 29 at 10 a.m. MDT, or noon EDT. Early bird passes have sold out.

Yachty has spent years making music beyond the sound that first brought him to rap fans. His 2023 album Let’s Start Here took a turn into psychedelic rock, a direction he had teased in 2022 when he described the planned project as a non-rap album.

That shift also led him to explain what he wanted from his career. At a January 2023 listening event, he said he wanted people to take him seriously as an artist. Some listeners heard that as a slight against rap.

In a Rap Radar interview covered by AllHipHop that February, he said the point was that he did more than rap. He recalled making Michigan Boy Boat and doing freestyles while trying to prove himself as a rapper.

“That’s when I was trying to prove I’m a rapper. But I’m past that. Now, I’m proving I’m an artist,” he said.

Let’s Start Here also gave him a new set of chart milestones. The album entered at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts. It was his first album to lead any Billboard album chart.

Across all genres, the project debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 with 36,000 equivalent album units in its first week. That made it his third Top 10 album.

Kilby has grown since its 2019 start as a block party at Kilby Court, later moving to the fairpark. The 2027 lineup also includes Utah acts Olympic Deth and Choir Boy. More artists remain unannounced, and organizers have yet to announce when single-day passes will be available.
