LL Cool J booked 11 Las Vegas shows for “Rock The Bells: The Residency” at Dolby Live at Park MGM in 2027.
The dates are May 15, 16, 19, 21 and 22, plus July 9, 10, 11, 14, 16 and 17.
All shows start at 8 p.m., with guest performances and storytelling planned.
“Hip-Hop started in a few neighborhoods in New York, and now it belongs to the whole world. Along the way it changed rock, R&B, pop, soul, dance music, all of it. Rock The Bells celebrates everybody who was part of that story,” LL Cool J said.
The run comes as LL has been talking about what makes fans stay with an artist. In a “7PM in Brooklyn” interview released October 16, he urged rappers to put songs ahead of clicks.
His point was about the ties music can build, even when the numbers take time to catch up.
He spoke about the pain of putting care into a song and seeing it draw little interest. The answer, he said, was to keep making music and let a core audience grow.
He also used basketball to explain why stats could fall short. A player’s value to teammates might never show up in a box score.
For artists, chasing a quick response could leave the feeling in a song behind.
That focus had shaped his own return to recording. In a July 2024 interview with The Associated Press, LL described the work behind The FORCE, his first album in 11 years.
He had spent time in the studio during that gap, then began to push harder. At first, he felt the beats he received were stronger than the verses he wrote. Q-Tip became his partner on the project and produced every track.
The process pushed LL to rethink his craft rather than coast on what had worked before. “I wasn’t trying to do trendy, and I wasn’t trying to recapture anything I did before,” he told AP.
He compared that work to great basketball players returning to practice to improve. His aim was to share where he stood as an artist and leave listeners free to take their own meaning from it.
Citi/AAdvantage presales start October 30 at 10 a.m. PT; MGM Rewards, Live Nation and Ticketmaster follow October 31, same time. General sales begin November 2 at 10 a.m. PT.
