LUCKI Gives Long-Awaited Leaks An Official Release On “Last Laugh”

LUCKI set an October 16 release for Last Laugh, an archive tape that will bring songs fans have chased through leaks and snippets onto streaming services.

The Chicago rapper announced the project Tuesday, drawing from recording sessions that span the past decade. “Overseas,” “60mgs” and “What It Is” are among the tracks slated for their first official release.

The collection will also include recordings that have never reached listeners, his team said in the announcement.

That mix gives longtime fans a chance to hear work that never made it onto his regular albums. Kodone created the cover art, which traces LUCKI’s different eras across 13 years. His career began as Lucki Eck$ with the 2013 tape “Alternative Trap.”

The move has a clear precedent in his catalog.

“Leave Her” circulated as a leak by at least 2021 before receiving a wide release in April 2023. Fans had pushed for the song after hearing it through unofficial SoundCloud uploads and TikTok clips. That wait ended with the BrentRambo-produced track landing on streaming platforms.

The archive tape follows “Dr*gs R Bad,” which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 9 in May with 51,000 equivalent album units. Its tracks earned 48.39 million on-demand official streams that week, his strongest streaming frame at the time.

Physical releases also played a role.

The album sold 6,000 copies in its opening week, his best sales week at the time, with several versions and signed editions helping that total. Last Laugh will be his second full-length release of 2026, turning attention from a new studio set to recordings from earlier sessions.

LUCKI’s own account of how he builds projects helps explain why a vault release can sound different from a single album.

In a 2019 interview, he said he chose songs and beats around a particular sound, rather than keeping every beat he liked.

“Even if I hear a good beat, if it doesn’t fit with the sound I want, I won’t pick it,” he told The FADER.

The announcement left more song titles to be revealed before Last Laugh arrives Friday.
