Lucki Recovering After Violent ComplexCon Attack As Details Emerge

Lucki is recovering and is doing fine after Saturday’s bloody attack at ComplexCon, sources close to the Chicago rapper say. That update follows an assault that left the rapper bleeding near his neck as people helped him reach a car.

Clips from the scene show people fighting near parked vehicles, while a separate video captures Lucki leaving with visible injuries.

In the clip, he wore a camouflage jacket as a crowd stood near the black car. The same clip shows him moving toward a front seat before others guide him toward the rear.

AllHipHop had a correspondent at the event who witnessed the attack involving Lucki, then covered the brawl and reported stabbing.

Reports have linked the clash to people in Lucki’s circle and associates of Playboi Carti. Sources claimed the beef started with an argument involving Destroy Lonely and Lucki that turned physical.

Carti appears in footage from the scene, but no verified evidence shows that he struck Lucki or ordered the attack. The nature of Lucki’s wound still needs confirmation, since early accounts described both a stabbing and a slash after the fight.

“LAPD is investigating the incident as an attempted murder,” TMZ reports.

Lucki and Carti were collaborators long before the feud, with Carti featuring on Lucki’s 2015 remix of “Saucin’.” That track appears on Freewave, placing their shared recording history almost nine years before they began arguing online in 2024.

By September 2024, their public exchanges had shifted from working together to a dispute over jewelry, religion and perceived disrespect. The issue centered on a cross chain Lucki showed online around the release of Carti’s song “All Red” that month.

Lucki’s “Crosses up” remark drew Carti’s attention because the song references a tattoo of an upside-down cross on his neck. Carti treated the post as a diss, while Lucki said he had bought a chain and wasn’t targeting the rapper.

When Carti made their old messages public, Lucki posted his own screenshots to show the praise had flowed both ways. Lucki also questioned Carti’s devotion to Jesus, turning his denial of a diss into another jab during their public exchange.

That history does not establish a motive for Saturday’s attack.

Carti helped guide this year’s event as an artistic director, sharing those duties with Hiroshi Fujiwara of Fragment Design.

Lucki built his career with 2013’s Alternative Trap, years before his first two albums reached the Billboard 200’s top 20. His latest album, Dr*gs R Bad, arrived May 15 through EMPIRE with 26 tracks, including “No Stars in Maybachs.”
