Ludacris Uses Disguises & Hotel Workouts To Stay Fit On Tour

Ludacris sometimes put on a disguise just to take a walk while touring. It lets him get outside without being recognized.
The rapper explained in a new interview that long stretches in cars, on planes and in hotel rooms made fresh air a priority. His road routine also included Zoom workouts in his hotel room when his trainer couldn’t join him.
“Even if I am somehow kind of blending in and hiding in plain sight, just being able to breathe fresh air is very important to me since I’m trapped in so many planes, cars and hotels without balconies,” Ludacris said.
Luda described training five to seven days a week, using hotel gyms when possible. Without one, he turned to outdoor bodyweight exercises or brought free weights into his room. Back home in Atlanta, he had converted a garage into a gym.
That effort began with a deeply personal moment. In 2023, he told Men’s Health that losing his father to alcoholism pushed him to take better care of himself. His dad died at 52, when Ludacris was 29.
He tied his goals to time with his children and future grandchildren, and to staying strong enough to give fans a full show for years to come. His training also included martial arts and the street-fighting style known as 52 Blocks.
“I am noticing [my] age, but I’m up for the challenge. I’m a warrior,” he said.
The planning went beyond finding somewhere to lift weights. In 2024, he told Us Weekly that he mapped out meals ahead of time so hunger wouldn’t make him grab whatever was nearby.
“You got to plan out the workouts and plan out the meals,” he said.
He described working different muscle groups on different days and making room for rest. On days off, he relaxed, recovered and allowed himself a cheat day, rather than treating every day as another hard session.
His latest comments came amid his partnership with One A Day. The brand’s “Health Doesn’t Need to Be Ludacris” campaign, launched earlier this year, played on his name to mock elaborate wellness fads and promote a simpler routine.
For all the work he put into fitting exercise around travel, Ludacris placed one daily habit first.
“Get enough sleep…that’s the number one priority,” he said.
