Malie Donn, Merkz and top DJs to get SOAK’D at UWI

Aside from water and foam, patrons are in for a musical treat at this Saturday’s staging of SOAK’D, dubbed the ultimate water fete. Set for UWI Mona Bowl on the campus of The University of the West Indies, it is hosted and promoted by Fabian “Fyahman” Morris, a recent law degree graduate, as part of his birthday celebration. Since its 2023 inception it has grown into one of the most recognisable events held each year.

“Patrons can expect a full, high-energy experience built around music, water, foam, entertainment, and nonstop vibes. SOAK’D is more than just a party; it is an immersive experience where the crowd becomes part of the action... UWI Mona Bowl [gives] us more space to enhance production, water features, bar, activation and the overall atmosphere. We want people to come ready to get wet, have fun, and experience SOAK’D at another level,” Fyahman told the Jamaica Observer on Wednesday. He is excited about the entertainment package, which will feature two of dancehall’s hottest names, the high-riding Van Cleef deejay Malie Donn and Merkz. “The DJ and selector line-up is also packed, featuring the recent Caribbean Music Award winning DJ, Ricky Platinum, JJ Deadlock, DJ Spectre from Code Red, Zess from ZIP 103FM, Jubba Dem, DJ Deva Kidd, Selecta JB, DJ Rann, DJ Zacky, and others,” said Fyahman, who will also put on his DJ hat as he teams with Kryptic to blaze a musical inferno. “Patrons can expect a mixture of dancehall, soca, hip hop, and the biggest party records, with the line-up designed to keep the energy building throughout the night,” he continued.

Fyahman spoke about the event’s growth of the past three stagings. “The growth has been tremendous... but from the very beginning we saw the potential for it to become something much bigger. Over the years, the event has expanded in terms of production, attendance, partnerships, entertainment, and overall brand recognition. We have worked alongside major entertainment brands, including Yardmas Carnival, and the event has hosted several notable names within Jamaican entertainment. In 2025 SOAK’D incorporated a joint birthday celebration with Skippa, and in March 2026 we hosted Skeng and Showtime Services, with other major names including Jamal and Spice being part of that staging.” said Fyahman. “Now the focus is on continuing that evolution. We are bringing in bigger entertainment packages, improving production and creating stronger brand partnerships while still maintaining what made SOAK’D special from the beginning: Great music, water, energy and an atmosphere where everybody comes to have a good time. This staging feels like another major step forward for the brand, and we’re excited for patrons to see what we’ve put together,” he explained.
