Meek Mill is challenging DJ Akademiks over remarks about Islam, adding another dispute to their years of public arguments.
The latest fight began when Akademiks ridiculed Sneako, a streamer who identifies as Muslim, during an online exchange.
A clip shared by Sneako Productions captured the commentator using a homophobic Jamaican term while speaking about the religion and Palestinians.
“Is this like a battyman religion where you’re attracted to penis?” Akademiks asked, directing his comments at Sneako.
Meek criticized both the language and the reach of Akademiks’ platform, while returning to a past controversy involving a teenage streamer.
His response read: “Remember when I said take this guy out your algorithm look how he speaking on a religion so comfortable with a large platform … he was grooming a child on stream… speaking on people kids .. why would anybody hang around a guy like this? Or deal with him to any level?”
That allegation refers to a January 2025 incident when Akademiks asked a 15-year-old sexually explicit questions during a livestream.
Akademiks later apologized for his comments, saying, “Definitely a regrettable moment, and we’re gonna use that as a teachable moment.”
Meek’s accusation of grooming remains his allegation, not a proven legal finding.
Meek then questioned the broadcaster’s claimed Jamaican birthplace.
“Can we verify Akademiks is from Spanish town because he don’t promote any Jamaican artist music? Why is that? I have family in Spanish town let me know where this guy is really from!”
The two also argued on Clubhouse in 2020, when 21 Savage tried to calm their exchange about coverage of rap conflicts.
Their feud returned in September after Lil Durk’s acquittal, when Meek accused Akademiks of profiting from destructive Hip-Hop feuds.
He called for a boycott of the commentator and promised to build a competing Dream Chasers streaming presence.
Akademiks responded by sharing screenshots that appeared to show attempted calls from Meek, then challenged him over talk of visiting his home.
During an October 13 broadcast, Akademiks said he was born at Spanish Town Hospital in Jamaica, the place Meek has now questioned.
