Minister Jean Fray’s Essence of God returns to market
Four years after it was first released, Essence of God, the second album by gospel artiste Minister Jean Fray, returns to the market. The 10-song set, co-produced by Sydney Mills and Brotha George Wright, came out in September. For its second run, the album has been remastered. The message, Minister Jean Fray stressed, is the same. “God has blessed me immensely. He is the source of my life, I cannot do anything without Him,” she said. “I have learned to trust Him no matter what the situation.” Essence of God contains songs like He Touched Me and Unconditional Love, which Minister Jean Fray says sums up her relationship with the Almighty. She co-wrote the latter with Brotha George Wright, who is also a gospel singer. “This song is very close to my heart. I have proven that the love that God has for me is unmeasurable. Whenever I am faced with trials and tribulations, I just reflect upon God’s never-ending love for me,” she said. “I have learned to trust the Lord because He is always there with me.” Born in Trelawny, Minister Jean Fray is based in New York. She made her vocal debut seven years ago with the album Glory, on which she was guided by Mills and Wright. The London-born Mills is a veteran musician who has recorded and toured with acts like Steel Pulse. As a producer, he has directed Dennis Brown, KRS-One and Worl-A-Girl. —Howard Campbell
