Reggae artiste Miriam Simone, also known as Empress Miriam Simone, has released her second solo EP, Rise Up, following her recent installation as Amammerehemaa of Adukrom in Ghana’s Akuapem Traditional Area.
The seven-track project, released on October 23, was produced by Sound System Club Ltd and digitally distributed through VPAL Music, the distribution arm of VP Records.
Rooted in reggae, the EP explores themes of resilience, gratitude and personal development, with the title track encouraging listeners to remain steadfast in the face of adversity.
“Rise Up is about encouraging people to keep believing in themselves, even when life gets difficult. I wanted these songs to speak to strength, growth and gratitude, and to remind listeners that they can keep moving forward,” Simone said.
“I hope the EP uplifts people in their minds, spirits and everyday lives,” she added.
The release comes at a significant point in Simone’s personal journey, following her crowning in Ghana, where she assumed the stool name Nana Abena Asentewaa Sheba Makeda.
The traditional appointment represents a new chapter for the entertainer, who is balancing her musical pursuits with her cultural responsibilities.
Rise Up is available on major digital streaming platforms.
