MO3 Assassin Files Appeal Of Capital Murder Conviction

Yella Beezy and MO3’s beef started years before a fatal ambush on Interstate 35, and now that the man accused of pulling the trigger has filed an appeal in his capital murder conviction, the entire case is back in the spotlight.

Kewon White was sentenced to life without parole after a jury found him guilty of killing MO3 in November 2020, but his legal team is arguing that he deserves another shot at trial.

White’s appeal is now in motion, and his legal team argues he couldn’t afford the trial transcript, which won’t be ready until January 2027.

The appeals process could take anywhere from 12 to 18 months before reaching the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

The appeal filing connects directly to the murder-for-hire allegations against Yella Beezy, whose trial has been pushed back as the legal system processes White’s case.

The feud between Yella Beezy and MO3 wasn’t some quick social media beef that fizzled out.

Prosecutors documented years of escalating tension through rap songs, social media posts, and public interviews that showed the two Dallas rappers were locked in a serious rivalry.

In 2020, things got physical when Beezy got into an altercation with MO3’s manager, Brandon Rainwater, which MO3 later addressed publicly.

That confrontation set the stage for what came next, and according to FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth, prosecutors say Yella Beezy took it to the extreme.

On November 11, 2020, a masked gunman ambushed MO3 on I-35E as he was driving northbound.

The shooter chased him down the freeway and opened fire, hitting him multiple times.

MO3 was pronounced dead at the hospital, and prosecutors immediately began building a case that Yella Beezy had orchestrated the whole thing.

They alleged that Beezy paid White to carry out the hit, and they pointed to bank records showing Beezy withdrew $40,000 after the shooting when White started complaining about not getting paid.

Meanwhile, Yella Beezy’s own capital murder trial has been delayed multiple times.

The trial was originally set to begin in September 2026, but according to WFAA, the judge agreed to push it back because defense attorneys needed more time to review transcripts and coordinate expert witnesses.

Yella Beezy has pleaded not guilty and continues to deny any involvement in MO3’s death.

Yella Beezy’s trial is now anticipated to start in late October 2026 at the earliest, but that date could shift again depending on how the appellate process unfolds.
