Mt Pleasant climb into top six of Legend JPL after draw against Arnett
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Mt Pleasant FA have moved into the top six of the Legend Jamaica Premier League points standings for the first time this season after coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Arnett Gardens in their rescheduled game played at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Thursday. The point saw Mt Pleasant FA take over sixth position on 11 points from seven games, one more than defending champions Portmore United, who beat Treasure Beach FC 2-0 at Ferdie Neita Park, also on Thursday, while Arnett Gardens are in eighth place, also on 10 points. These games were scheduled for earlier but were postponed as both Mt Pleasant FA and Portmore were fulfilling their obligations in the Concacaf Caribbean Club league. On Thursday at the Anthony Spaulding Complex, national Under-20 striker Giovanni Talyor scored his joint-leading seventh goal to give Arnett Gardens the lead in the 64th minute. Mt Pleasant FA drew level two minutes later when a shot from Romaine Blake from the top of the Arnett Gardens 18-yard box deflected off his teammate Warner Brown and into the goal. At Ferdie Neita Park, Demario Dailey and Stevaughn Spence, both second-half substitutes, scored for Portmore United as they ended their run of four straight drawn games. Dailey, who was introduced in the 46th minute, gave Portmore the lead in the 49th minute, while Spence, who came on in the 70th minute, scored a minute later.
