KINGSTON, Jamaica — Champions Mt Pleasant Football Academy (FA) were held 1-1 by Club Sando in their Concacaf Caribbean Club semi-final first-leg game played at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday.
The clubs will meet again next Thursday in Kingston where the winners on aggregate will qualify for the final against the winner of the other semi-final where Portmore United lead Violette AC of Haiti 3-1.
Warner Brown gave Mt Pleasant the lead in the 11th minute when he scored the opening goal and the Jamaican team could have doubled the lead later but Trayvon Reid’s poor penalty kick was saved by goalkeeper Teshaun Ragoo.
Mt Pleasant paid for their miss in the second half when Daniel David beat goalkeeper Shaquan Davis at his right post to level the scores.
Both teams came close to scoring a second goal; Kyle Ming heroically heading a point-blank shot off Mt Peasant’s goal line after Davis was beaten off his line in the 85th minute and Brown’s attempt from close range was saved by Ragoo.
