N.O.R.E. confronted food reviewer Sober Facts in New York City over his use of the N-word, taking their months-long online argument into an encounter that drew a response from the creator.
The “Drink Champs” host approached Sober Facts while he filmed a food review. The circulating footage showed a verbal confrontation with no physical altercation.
“I could have did you filthy,” N.O.R.E. said. He maintained that his intentions were positive and argued that nobody, including Black people, should use the slur.
He addressed the camera and asked where the people backing Sober Facts online were. In a response video, Sober Facts said N.O.R.E. arrived with six or seven people and interrupted him.
“You saying to not say the N-word, and you keep saying the N-word,” he said.
The reviewer defended the word as part of New York culture.
“I’m a content demon,” he said, acknowledging he knew the clip would draw attention. He ended his response with a friendly shoutout to N.O.R.E.
N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN launched the Drink Champs Podcast Network in June 2025. It debuted with Memphis Bleek’s “Roc Solid,” with Black Effect and iHeartMedia. “Our goal is to set people up not only for success but with the tools to forge their own lanes!” the co-hosts said on Instagram.
Questions about public speech and responsibility had come up in N.O.R.E.’s own interviews earlier this year. During a June 2026 appearance on “The Breakfast Club”, he described how the fallout from his Ye interview changed the way he approached “Drink Champs.”
He said the show previously avoided editing interviews, but regretted leaving in Ye’s antisemitic remarks and comments about George Floyd. N.O.R.E. said he apologized and came to understand that hosting someone else’s words still carried a responsibility.
“I understand that I have a responsibility now,” he said. He explained that even laughing at something a guest said could make listeners think he endorsed it.
In that same June conversation, he discussed a separate online exchange with Stephen Jackson. He said internet encouragement had influenced his response, called his behavior embarrassing and expressed a preference for taking the high road.
“I want to be more responsible,” N.O.R.E. said.
