Nia Long Receives Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star With Snoop Dogg And Dr. Dre On Hand

Nia Long officially joined the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday, surrounded by family and major figures from Hip-Hop and Black Hollywood.
The veteran actress received the 2,857th Walk of Fame star in the Motion Pictures category at 6150 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Snoop Dogg served as a guest speaker, and Dr. Dre also attended, adding extra weight to the ceremony for an actress deeply connected to Hip-Hop history.
Snoop even wore a custom outfit covered with Long’s image, while Terrence Howard, Larenz Tate and Bill Bellamy were also photographed at the ceremony.
Long used her speech to honor her mother, Talita Long, who once drove an RTD bus while raising her in South Central Los Angeles.
“I remember the hard days living in South Central L.A. when you drove the RTD bus and I was a latchkey kid,” Long said. “Money was scarce and opportunities to thrive seemed to pass us by. I share this star with you because there isn’t any part of my story that doesn’t circle back to your bravery and unconditional love.”
Long’s relationship with Hip-Hop reaches back to John Singleton’s 1991 classic Boyz n the Hood, where she played Brandi opposite Ice Cube.
She reunited with Cube in Friday and later appeared in Dr. Dre’s “Keep Their Heads Ringin’” video from the movie’s soundtrack.
Long also became a fixture beside Will Smith on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air before building a film résumé including Love Jones, Soul Food and The Best Man.
Her place inside rap culture became so established that Nas, J. Cole and other MCs referenced her, something AllHipHop previously explored through her reaction to “Oochie Wally.”
Her music-video history also includes Ashanti’s “Baby,” Kanye West’s “Touch the Sky,” Snoop Dogg’s “California Roll” and Tyler, The Creator’s “Darling, I.”
Long previously explained to AllHipHop that working repeatedly with Ice Cube felt like building a shared legacy that began with Boyz n the Hood.
“We always said that we started this together, so we will continue to work together…kind of like a legacy,” Long said. “With acting as with anything you do, the more you practice the more you grow. I definitely feel that as an actress that I have grown and perfected my craft over the years.”
Long most recently played Katherine Jackson in the 2026 Michael Jackson biopic Michael, adding another music-centered role to her four-decade career.
