Offset Won’t Quit Gambling Despite Hesitation About Casinos

Offset expressed hesitation about returning to a casino when TMZ caught up with him at Los Angeles International Airport. Giving up gambling, though, was not part of the plan he described.

The rapper spoke with TMZ on Thursday, November 5, during an exchange about “Every Night,” his collaboration with Don Toliver. Its casino-themed video brought the conversation around to Offset’s own experiences with gambling. He connected the video’s setting to his life.

His casino history this year includes a shooting in Florida, a money dispute in Detroit and a blackjack argument in Paris.

MotorCity Casino Hotel sued him on March 30 over an alleged $100,000 debt tied to a March 2024 visit. The Detroit casino accused him of failing to repay a gambling marker and alleged that the bank account backing it lacked enough money to cover the amount.

The casino’s complaint alleged fraud, breach of contract and violations of Michigan’s bad-check law. It sought twice the alleged unpaid gambling debt plus legal fees.

On September 11, Michigan’s Wayne County Circuit Judge Qiana Denise Lillard directed the casino to apply for a default after Offset failed to respond to the lawsuit.

On April 6, Offset was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. The shooting took place in the valet area. His spokesperson said he was in stable condition the following day, while police described his injuries as non-life-threatening.

Another casino appearance drew attention on October 5, when video showed him arguing at a Paris blackjack table. That episode preceded the release of “Every Night” and its use of casino imagery.

The label announced the Don Toliver collaboration on October 9 as part of the rollout for GMFU.

Offset most recently pointed to November 13 for the album’s release, after his label announced an earlier October 23 date. The project follows his 2025 album KIARI and its expanded edition.

“Every Night” followed the September single “Something I Need.” Jaasu produced the track, which samples Jodeci’s 1995 song “Freek’n You.” Mikey Rare and SheShe Pendleton directed the video that prompted the casino question at LAX.
