Olivier Martinez is asking Halle Berry to pay $240,000 in legal fees as their custody battle adds another expensive court filing.
The French actor cited financial strain in the request, according to court records.
The filing is the latest move in a dispute that has already produced weeks of hearings over the former couple’s 13-year-old son, Maceo.
Martinez’s fee request comes days after Judge Shelley Kaufman dissolved a temporary restraining order against Berry and denied his request for a longer domestic violence protective order.
The judge found that Martinez had not met the burden of proof required for that protection.
Berry’s lawyer, Marina Beck, welcomed that result.
“We are extremely pleased that the Court has dissolved the TRO,” Beck said after the ruling. She said Berry would remain focused on her family’s welfare.
The decision did not restore the old parenting schedule. Berry remains limited to daytime visits on Mondays and Tuesdays and every other weekend.
The current order bars overnight visits, while earlier legal-custody terms remain in place. The court also directed Berry and Maceo to attend 12 safe-haven therapy sessions over six months once a therapist is appointed.
Martinez’s attorney, Patrick Baghdaserians, said his client was “very happy” that the visitation limits remained. He said the decision was “really focused on the best interests of the minor child.”
The fight intensified after Martinez alleged that Berry physically abused Maceo during a September 26 incident. Berry denied the allegations and said she had never physically, emotionally or otherwise abused her son.
She also called herself a survivor of domestic violence and said, “I would never hurt our child.”
The former couple settled their divorce in 2023 after separating in 2015. Their agreement provided joint physical and legal custody, but the latest allegations led to temporary changes that remain under review.
Another custody review was already expected in November, keeping the parenting schedule and the cost of the fight before Judge Kaufman.
