Omari Hardwick Breaks Silence On Power Fallout

Omari Hardwick is finally talking about the tension behind his exit from Power, while still supporting both 50 Cent and Courtney Kemp.

The actor addressed the long-running dispute during an Associated Press interview tied to his role in the Prime Video series The Greatest.

Asked whether he knew Kemp wanted his character, James “Ghost” St. Patrick, removed earlier than the show’s sixth and final season, Hardwick said, “There was definitely a shift.”

Hardwick did not name a single person as the cause. He framed the problem as something gifted people can face even when a project is successful. He also made it clear that years of public debate didn’t push him to choose one side.

“I never said anything, did I?” Hardwick asked. He added, “I always rock with 50. I always pray for Courtney.”

That answer arrives as 50 Cent and Kemp continue to challenge each other’s version of how Power came together and who shaped its biggest decisions.

50 has said he fought to keep Ghost alive after Kemp wanted the character gone. Kemp has disputed his account while acknowledging his part in bringing the crime drama to television. The argument has kept the show’s leadership decisions in public view years later.

Hardwick’s relationship with the franchise has also been strained.

He previously said his pay did not match the weight of leading one of Starz’s signature shows. 50 later said the actor placed too much value on himself, adding another layer to a partnership that helped turn Ghost into a television fixture.

The latest comments set a clear boundary. Hardwick confirmed that the working climate changed and kept his answer focused on the people he still supports.

His next chapter is already moving.

AllHipHop previously reported that Hardwick’s Bosch prequel is set to premiere in January. In The Greatest, he plays a younger version of Muhammad Ali’s father, Cassius Clay Sr., in a story built around the family that shaped the boxing legend.

For Power fans, the interview offers the clearest answer Hardwick has given about the split. He saw the shift and kept quiet. Even now, he is leaving room for both 50 Cent and Kemp in the story.
