Paul Wall Honors His Mother Onstage After Learning Of Her Death

Paul Wall says he kept his Texas State Fair show to honor his mother after learning she had died on his way there.

The rap star shared the news on Facebook. He said her pride in the booking helped him take the stage.

“On the way to the State Fair show, I received the heartbreaking news that my mother had passed away. 💔 She was so proud of me to get the opportunity to perform at the State Fair, so with a heavy heart, I still wanted to show up for my fans and give them the performance they came for, and at the same time make my momma proud,” Paul Wall posted.

The fair billed Saturday’s concert as the Paul Wall Fall Ball. Its official game-day guide listed a 7:45 P.M. set at the Chevrolet Main Stage inside Fair Park Coliseum, following the Texas-Oklahoma football game in Dallas.

The show was part of the fair’s main-stage concert series, included with admission. The 2026 fair runs through Oct. 18.

“To everyone who has reached out, sent prayers, and offered condolences to me and my family, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your love and support mean more to me than words can express during this difficult time. Rest peacefully, Mom. I love you forever,” Paul Wall said.
