Pop Rocket to break maiden
A field of seven juvenile native-bred two-year-olds will contest a maiden special weight event over 4½ furlongs (900m) for a purse of $1.01 million at Caymanas Park tomorrow.   Below, the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide analyses the runners as they battle for the major share of the $1.01-million purse on offer.   1. BENNETTA: (2 b f by Sensational Slam – Ceresini) – Nicely bred filly making her debut. Has been training fairly well at exercise and is expected to run well. Watch for improvement.   2. POP ROCKET: (2 gr f by Successful Native – Salvation) – Finished third by 3½ lengths on debut behind Boss over Boss and Sooryavanshi over 3 furlongs (600m) on August 8. Has been working well since and with that experience under her girth, is expected to go close. Figure-8 on. Top contender.   3. SHEAR MIDNIGHT: (2 gr f by Midnight Hawk – Sheer Madness) – First-time runner. She has been showing some promise at exercise, expected to run well without actually winning.   4. CLOCKY TEE: (2 b c by Bern Identity – Miss Formality) – The lone colt in the line-up. Yet to show much at exercise to give him a chance here but should benefit from the outing.   5.MANDY: (2 ch f by Whisky Double – Lady Blue) – The most experienced in the line-up with four starts. Has been knocking at the door and based on her previous outings, she is going to make her presence felt. Respect.   6. YEET: (2 b f by Kettle Corn – Runallday) – Has shown little so far and is not expected to be a major player.   7. BOUGAINVILLEA: (2 b f by Savoy Stomp – Artesia) – Another first-time starter who should benefit from the exposure.   — Ruddy Allen
