Quando Rondo Leaves Federal Custody After Completing Halfway-House Term

Quando Rondo is out of federal custody after completing the community-confinement portion of his sentence in a marijuana conspiracy case.

The Savannah rapper, whose legal name is Tyquian Bowman, was released from RRM Atlanta on Monday (November 2) and had his ankle monitor removed.

A Facebook post from barber Kwame Bryant, who shared a photo after Rondo stopped by his shop for a haircut.

“I’m glad u finally off paper and out of Federal Custody fam,” Bryant wrote in the post, according to the report.

He also said they played unreleased music during the visit.

The development closes the custody portion of a case that began with Rondo’s December 2023 arrest. He pleaded guilty in August 2024 to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute marijuana.

A federal judge later sentenced him to 33 months in prison, three years of supervised release and a $40,000 fine.

Rondo served roughly 15 months at FCI Edgefield in South Carolina before entering community confinement.

AllHipHop reported in June that he had left the prison for an Atlanta halfway house to complete the final stretch of his sentence.

That distinction matters. Rondo had been out of a federal prison for months, but he remained under Bureau of Prisons custody while assigned to the reentry program.

The Bureau of Prisons says a past release date with no facility listed means a person is no longer in BOP custody, though that person may still be on supervised release or under another authority.

Rondo’s three-year supervised-release term remains part of his sentence. The end of federal custody therefore does not erase the conditions imposed by the court.

The rapper’s projected release date had shifted during the final months of the sentence. Earlier reports listed November 11 before an updated BOP date moved it to November 2.

The new report says that date held and that the monitoring device came off.

Rondo’s release also gives him more room to return to music. The barbershop post indicated that he already has unreleased material in rotation. For now, the concrete change is legal: after moving from prison to community confinement in the spring, he has completed the federal custody phase of the sentence.
