Racing United are the leaders in the Legend Jamaica Premier League after beating Humble Lion FC 2-1 at Effortville Community Centre on Sunday.
Nickyle Ellis scored a double for Racing, who were winning their third game in their last four starts to improve to 16 points, two more than Tru-Juice FC.
Ellis took his tally to six goals as he scored in the 18th and 39th minutes, while Ashani Barrett pulled a goal back for Humble Lion in time added at the end of the first half.
Promoted Tru-Juice, who are in second place, spanked Treasure Beach FC 5-0 in Santa Cruz as Tyrone Mullings remained hot with four goals to take over the scoring lead with seven.
Mullings, who scored a hat-trick against Humble Lion in the previous round, went one goal better on Sunday, taking advantage of a disorganised Treasure Beach defence.
He opened the scoring in the fourth minute, then doubled the lead in the 39th before completing his second-straight hat-trick in the 54th. Mullings tagged on a fourth goal in the 66th minute before Alex Marshall struck his first of the season in the 76th.
Cavalier FC, playing with 10 men for most of the game, beat Tivoli Gardens 2-1 at Turner’s Oval, to snap a three-game winless run, while defending champions Portmore United and Chapelton Maroons played out a 0-0 result at Ferdie Neita Park.
Rajay Wright gave Cavalier the lead in the 33rd minute but they were reduced to 10 players three minutes later when Romarion Thomas was sent off after he was shown a second yellow card.
Dwayne Atkinson brought Tivoli Gardens level in the 59th minute when he beat goalkeeper Nathaniel Francis from close range, but James Gallimore hit the winner in the 79th.
On Monday, Montego Bay United can reclaim the top spot but would need a first-ever win over Mount Pleasant FA in the second game of a double-header at Anthony Spaulding Complex.
In the first game at the venue, Arnett Gardens are set to face Molynes United.
