Poohman from Bloodhound and Drill City was gunned down on Chicago’s South Side just hours after leaving Q50’s funeral service on Friday evening.
The 26-year-old was targeted at a gas station near 76th and Cottage, where two shooters opened fire without warning.
He managed to get behind the wheel of a Dodge Challenger and tried to escape the ambush, but the attackers pursued him relentlessly and kept firing.
His vehicle eventually crashed, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to local police.
The timing of this killing adds another layer of tragedy to an already devastating moment for the Bloodhound collective.
Q50, the 22-year-old drill rapper who’d been building serious momentum in the Chicago scene, was buried just the day before after being ambushed himself on September 13 at a Fuller Park gas station.
Over 80 rounds were fired at Q50’s Tesla in that coordinated attack, and his pregnant girlfriend was inside the vehicle when it happened. She survived, but Q50 didn’t make it.
According to reports, Q50’s funeral in Merrillville, Indiana drew heavy police presence to secure the procession and keep things peaceful.
Multiple Northwest Indiana agencies showed up to handle security, and the service reflected how deeply connected Q50 was to both Chicago and the surrounding communities.
His death came just weeks after he released Get Back or Die Trying, an album that was gaining real traction on streaming platforms before his life was cut short.
The Bloodhound circle has been hit hard over the past few years.
Q50’s cousin Bloodhound Zmoney was killed in 2023, and fellow Bloodhound affiliates Lil Jeff and Lil Scoom were murdered in 2024.
This pattern of violence surrounding the drill movement in Chicago continues to claim lives at an alarming rate, with the city recording 313 homicides through late September.
Police haven’t announced any arrests in connection with Poohman’s death, and the circumstances remain under investigation.
