‘Run-A-Boat’ Culture & Food Festival returns to Florida

TAMARAC, United States — A celebration of Jamaican culture is set for Florida this November at the 2026 iteration of the Run-A-Boat Culture & Food Festival. Organised by the Jamaican Women of Florida (JWOF), the November 14 event promises cuisine and community from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Tamarac Park. Run-A-Boat organisers are inviting families and community members to experience an afternoon and evening celebrating Jamaican heritage through food, live entertainment, cultural connection, family-friendly activities, art and artisan vendors, and more. The event will also feature new additions, including live entertainment and the debut of the People’s Choice Awards, which will give attendees an opportunity to recognise participating culinary favourites in three categories: Fan Favourite, Best Jamaican Dish, and Best Jamaican Dessert. The addition is expected to bring an interactive element to the festival while showcasing the flavours and culinary traditions that are central to the Run-A-Boat experience. “Run-A-Boat is more than a cultural celebration—it is a powerful expression of Jamaican heritage that brings generations together through food, music and community,” said Dr Venessa Walker, president of the Jamaican Women of Florida. “It reflects JWOF’s mission to preserve our culture, strengthen families and empower women while creating a lasting impact throughout South Florida.” Beyond celebrating Jamaican culture, Run-A-Boat supports JWOF’s ongoing commitment to community impact. Proceeds from the event will support the organisation’s scholarship fund and its efforts with Melody House, helping JWOF continue investing in education, empowerment and service.
