Ciara and Russell Wilson are expanding their family with baby number five on the way, and this pregnancy is the direct result of months of relentless campaigning by the retired NFL quarterback.
The couple shared the news on Instagram, with Ciara showing off her growing baby bump, marking another chapter in their blended-family story that began over a decade ago.
Russell’s been vocal about wanting another child, and his persistence finally paid off.
Back in July at Fanatics Fest in New York City, he told E! News exactly what he wanted: “We have four amazing kids and I’m trying to convince Ciara to have a fifth. Cinco, you got to be on the way soon.”
He doubled down on his desire, saying, “I want to have five, Ciara does too,” though he acknowledged he still needed to work on convincing her.
The nickname “Cinco” stuck around, and now it’s becoming reality.
This fifth child will be Ciara’s second with someone other than Russell.
She shares Future Zahir, who’s now 12, with rapper Future. The couple met in 2015 at a University of Wisconsin basketball game, and their connection was immediate.
They got engaged the following year in March 2016 and married that July. Russell embraced his role as stepfather to Future Zahir from day one, treating him as his own son.
Together, Russell and Ciara have built a family with three other children: Sienna Princess is nine years old, Win Harrison is five, and Amora Princess is just nineteen months old.
The couple has been open about their desire to keep growing their family, and Ciara previously recalled that Russell started asking about “Cinco” shortly after Amora was born, though she joked at the time that he needed to “slow it down.”
She later admitted she couldn’t completely rule out having another child someday, and that someday has arrived.
The couple hasn’t revealed the baby’s sex or due date yet. Russell has been a devoted father and stepfather, and he’s spoken extensively about what it means to raise a blended family with love and commitment.
In a 2021 interview with GQ, he emphasized that being a stepparent means loving your children as if they’re biologically yours, and that every kid deserves that kind of unconditional support.
His relationship with Future Zahir has been a model of how blended families can thrive when there’s genuine care and dedication involved.
