Social Yard adds momentum to Constant Spring–Manor Park renewal

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A new food and social destination, Social Yard, is taking shape at the Constant Spring Football Field, adding fresh momentum to ongoing improvements across the wider Constant Spring–Manor Park area. The development will feature multiple restaurants and food outlets built around a central open dining and social space, creating a new destination for food, leisure and small business activity. Member of Parliament for St Andrew North Central, Delano Seiveright, recently toured the site with Minkah Lim-Tom, who is spearheading the development. The football field will remain intact and continue serving its sporting and community functions, with Social Yard providing an additional offering at the location. Seiveright welcomed the investment as a potential game-changer for the area, particularly as other initiatives to improve Manor Park and Constant Spring gather pace. He has recently been working alongside businessman Richard Lake, Pan Jamaica Group, the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC), the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) and other partners on improvements to the Manor Park vending and public transport zone, aimed at creating a cleaner, safer and better organised environment for commuters, vendors and businesses. Pan Jamaica is also moving ahead with a landscaping and beautification project around the Manor Park circle, which is hoped to be completed by early December 2026. At the same time, discussions are continuing around a broader reformatting of the Constant Spring–Manor Park area, with attention to transportation, pedestrian movement, vending, commercial activity, public spaces, infrastructure and beautification. “There is real momentum in Constant Spring and Manor Park. Social Yard is another important piece of the puzzle as we work towards an area that is better organised, more attractive and more vibrant for residents, commuters, businesses and visitors alike,” Seiveright said.
