WASHINGTON, United States(AFP)—Former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton on Thursday hailed late feminist icon Gloria Steinem as a trailblazer whose "activism was rooted in optimism."
"Gloria Steinem pushed open doors not just for herself, but for literally millions of women behind her," Clinton, who was also the first woman to be a major US party's presidential nominee, said in a statement.
