Ocho Rios High and Glenmuir High could book their places in the ISSA daCosta Cup football round-of-16 after Monday’s rescheduled games this afternoon.
Three games, which were originally scheduled for Saturday but were postponed for varying reasons, are set to be contested this afternoon as the race for places intensify.
Frome Technical, Lacovia High, McGrath High, Clarendon College, and Manning’s School booked their spots after all winning four-straight games in the second round.
A win for Ocho Rios High over Morant Bay High at Drax Hall would see them join McGrath High from Group 4, while anything but a win for Central High against visitors Yallahs High would see Glenmuir High advance from Group 2.
Ocho Rios are on seven points from three games after being held to a 1-1 result by BB Coke last week. But victory against Morant Bay would see Ocho Rios secure second place ahead of Dinthill Technical with a game still to be played.
Morant Bay are on one point and are virtually out of contention.
Central High will hope to stay in the race for a round-of-16 place with a win against Yallahs High, who have lost all three games.
Lacovia lead the group with 12 points, two more than Glenmuir High, while Central High on four points with a game in hand.
Brown’s Town High and former champions Rusea’s High are to meet at York Castle High in a must-win Group 6 game for both teams.
Rusea’s have won back-to-back games to be on six points, while Brown’s Town are on three points after consecutive losses.
Cornwall College, on six points, are set to welcome Rusea’s High to Montego Bay on Wednesday, while Brown’s Town are scheduled to be away to St James High, who are already eliminated from contention.
