The Healing Language of “With Love, From Dani” and DaniLeigh’s Faith-Driven Rebirth

The new album With Love, From Dani by singer, dancer, and director DaniLeigh carries the warmth of R&B, the bounce of hip-hop, the rhythm of Afrobeats, and even the edge of drill, all held together by a sense of faith that refuses to be quiet. It all comes wrapped in 13 songs that read like pages torn from a diary, written by a woman who has stopped asking the world for validation.

The journey begins with “Worthy,” an opening statement that sets the tone for everything that follows. Rather than looking back at old wounds, DaniLeigh steps forward as someone who has already done the work of healing and is ready to share what she found on the other side.

“Cinderella Man,” featuring Toschi, keeps the momentum going and stands among her own personal favorites on the project. “Home,” featuring Jordan Adetunji, serves as the album’s focus track and brings his UK-meets-Afro bounce into DaniLeigh’s world. With its simple, direct writing, the song recalls the ease of her earlier hit “Easy,” proof that sometimes the most effective records are the ones that say less and feel more.

“G.O.D.” places her faith at the center of the album, functioning as a love letter to God, while “Step” pulls her back onto the dance floor where she first built her name. Chicago R&B force Tink trades verses with her on “Up Down,” and “Expensive” and “Slide” keep the energy moving with a lighter touch.

“La Familia,” featuring Bella Dose and Brandon Bill$, turns the album into a full celebration of blood and chosen family, connecting DaniLeigh’s Dominican heritage to the people who have stood beside her. Brooklyn drill star Fivio Foreign then kicks in the door on “Sk8,” adding grit to the collection, before “2 Seat” sets up the album’s emotional peak.

That peak is “Goosebumps,” featuring Nigerian superstar Olamide. Rooted in Matthew 18:20, the record began as a solo song until her mixing engineer urged her to call Olamide. The result connects Miami, Los Angeles, and Lagos in one spiritual moment. Its official video, co-directed by DaniLeigh and her sister Victoria Curiel, takes the song inside a church, where she performs her verses as the congregation catches the spirit around her. The album closes with a bonus version of “G.O.D.” featuring Alex Jean, ending where it began: with faith.

Born Danielle Curiel in Miami to Dominican parents, DaniLeigh built her career on movement long before she stepped behind a microphone. She choreographed for major artists and directed Prince’s “Breakfast Can Wait” video before signing to Def Jam, where she released The Plan in 2018, featuring “Lil Bebe,” and Movie in 2020, which included “Easy” and its remix with Chris Brown.

With Love, From Dani marks her first music in years and arrives after a period of big change. Over the past year, she lost her father, recommitted to her faith, and became fully devoted to raising her daughter. Her days now begin at 6:00 AM with school drop-offs before she heads to the studio, guided by one rule: every song has to be something her daughter can play.

Throughout the collection, DaniLeigh sings about resilience, motherhood, and the kind of love that grows even out of hurt. Where her past albums dwelled on heartbreak and toxicity, this one moves with the calm of someone who has healed. Between records that invite listeners to dance and moments that call for prayer, With Love, From Dani leaves the impression of an artist writing her next chapter in real time, with her daughter in the passenger seat and God in the studio.
