TLC Continues Tour As Chili Shares Encouraging T-Boz Update

Chilli says T-Boz is getting stronger after a sickle cell crisis left her carrying TLC’s shows without her longtime partner.

The singer gave the crowd an upbeat update during TLC’s October 2 concert at Chastain Park’s Synovus Bank Amphitheater in Atlanta.

“Sometimes she has a crisis,” Chilli said. “I can tell you, she is getting to 100% every solitary day. I will hold down for my sister.”

T-Boz has missed shows since late August, while TLC continues to share the bill with Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue. Her absence has left Chilli leading songs such as “No Scrubs” while crowds pitch in on T-Boz’s vocal parts.

T-Boz has dealt with the inherited blood disorder since childhood and received her diagnosis when she was 7 years old.

The disease changes red blood cells, which can clog small vessels and keep blood from reaching parts of the body. Those blockages can cause severe pain that comes without warning and can send someone straight to the hospital.

T-Boz also endured surgery for a benign brain tumor and spent years recovering from problems with speech, hearing and balance.

TLC kept this tour running through her recovery, though a separate health scare forced the group to cancel two shows in 2024. That time, T-Boz suffered an intestinal blockage caused by scar tissue from an old surgery rather than a sickle cell crisis.

The latest setback follows a rough stretch for TLC after Chilli faced criticism over money sent to Republican fundraising groups.

In March, reports tied her 2024 contributions to groups linked to Donald Trump and raised questions about her politics. Chilli denied backing MAGA and said she thought her money would help veterans and efforts to fight human trafficking.

“I made a mistake too many make: I did not read the fine print,” she wrote on Instagram.

She also said she had accidentally shared a false conspiracy post about Michelle Obama and removed it after learning what happened.

TLC’s It’s Iconic tour is scheduled to close October 11 at Toyota Pavilion in Concord, California, according to VIP Nation.
