Trelawny truck driver killed in freak accident

TRELAWNY, Jamaica —A haulage truck operator died from injuries sustained after his vehicle fell on him during a freak accident in Shawfield, Trelawny on Tuesday afternoon. The identity of the deceased has not yet been ascertained. Observer Online was informed that shortly after 3:00 pm, the driver is believed to have gone to the rear of the truck, which was laden with construction material, to carry out repairs underneath the vehicle when it fell on him, pinning him underneath. Members of the Jamaica Fire and Rescue Service subsequently freed him from beneath the truck. The Falmouth Police have commenced an investigation into the incident.
