TT Torrez accused Funkmaster Flex of violently shoving her during a confrontation at Madison Square Garden in New York on Tuesday night (October 20) following an argument involving her husband, music executive Shadow Stokes.
The confrontation unfolded during the Philadelphia 76ers’ season opener against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night (October 20). The highly anticipated matchup ended with Philadelphia defeating New York 106-100, but the action on the basketball court was not the only source of tension inside the arena. Away from the game, inside the exclusive Delta Lounge, an argument involving two recognizable figures in New York Hip-Hop radio reportedly escalated into the confrontation that has since attracted widespread attention online.
The explosive allegation emerged in a statement issued by Torrez’s representative at Now PR Agency.
According to the statement, Torrez and Stokes were enjoying an evening together when a verbal disagreement between her husband and Flex escalated into a physical altercation.
The representative alleged that Flex shoved Torrez during the encounter, turning an otherwise pleasant outing into a distressing experience.
“There is no justification for a man to put his hands on a woman, under any circumstances,” the statement declared.
The allegations introduce a troubling dimension to a confrontation that has already attracted attention through video footage circulating on social media.
However, Torrez’s representative insisted the footage provides an incomplete account of what happened.
“The brief video circulating online does not tell the full story. What the public saw was a husband defending his wife.”
Video circulating online shows Stokes moving aggressively toward Flex as bystanders watch the confrontation unfold. Multiple security guards eventually restrain Stokes as tensions escalate inside the arena.
However, the footage does not establish what happened immediately before the confrontation or independently confirm allegations that Flex physically assaulted Torrez.
Flex wasted little time responding to speculation that he had been punched.
“HAHAHAHAHA! PLEASE! YOU WISH I GOT PUNCHED IN THE FACE!” Flex wrote on social media alongside a screenshot of a TMZ editor requesting comment. “I GUESS I GOT THESE LABEL GUYS KINDA ANGRY! THEY WANNA SUE WHEN THEY DONT GET THEY WAY!”
The statement also revealed allegations of a longstanding professional conflict between Torrez and Flex, two prominent personalities associated with HOT 97.
Torrez endured years of alleged harassment, intimidation and bullying involving her former colleague, according to her representative.
Torrez reportedly pursued professional and legal remedies instead of publicly addressing those grievances.
The representative claimed those efforts resulted in a settlement with MediaCo HOT 97 and a nondisparagement agreement.
The statement further accused Flex of continuing to violate that agreement.
Her representative Roseay Met said she intends to continue addressing the situation through legal counsel rather than engaging in public arguments.
No criminal charges have been announced by law enforcement.
or additional legal proceedings stemming from the alleged confrontation were identified in the statement.
