Tyler, The Creator Takes Over FC Barcelona Campaign & Calls His Own Shots

Tyler, The Creator scored FC Barcelona’s Clásico shirts for GOLF WANG and took creative control of the takeover campaign.

Barcelona unveiled the deal on October 15, confirming that his brand’s GOLF logo will appear across the chest when the team faces Real Madrid on October 25.

The women’s team will wear the same design first, against Granada on October 24.

The deal gave Tyler and his brand full control of the campaign’s graphics and video, a first for an artist in the Spotify and Barcelona partnership.

A Tyler-directed short was part of the rollout.

His GOLF logo will replace the usual Spotify branding. That made him the ninth artist to take over the shirt under the sponsorship deal.

The design brought a new soccer stage to GOLF WANG, the fashion brand he founded in 2011.

“Tyler brings a distinct creative world to the collaboration, extending far beyond the jersey,” Marc Hazan, Spotify’s senior vice president of marketing and partnerships, said.

The fashion drop featured 11 pieces, with jackets, retro jerseys and other sportswear carrying the club and GOLF WANG names. It also included a scarf, socks and a bottle.

The launch came with plans for (The) Creator’s Àgora, a cultural space in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, scheduled for October 15 through October 25.

Barcelona artist Daniel2000 was tapped to direct the program. The program planned art, photography, performances, and DJ sets alongside the collection.

Fans could also see and shop the clothes there.

The match shirts came in several limited runs. The announced editions included 1,899 match-quality jerseys, another 22 signed by players from the men’s and women’s squads, and 11 signed by Tyler.

Tyler already had a fashion track record outside his own labels.

He unveiled a Louis Vuitton men’s capsule in February 2024 and thanked Pharrell Williams for helping him land the design opportunity.

He also followed two other major rap names onto Barcelona’s shirts. Drake and Travis Scott took part in earlier editions of the artist series.

The next stop is Copa De Golf on October 24. Yung Taco will headline the Barcelona event with a DJ set, joined by Bexnil, Alu, duna and Mushkaa, before the men’s Clásico the following day.
