Tyrese Beats Vicious Dog Attack Charges By Completing Diversion Program

Tyrese walked away from animal cruelty charges after completing a pretrial diversion program, marking the end of a legal battle that started when his four Cane Corsos killed a neighbor’s beloved pet in Atlanta’s upscale Buckhead community.

The “Fast and Furious” star faced multiple charges including animal cruelty, dog at large, and nuisance violations stemming from the September 18, 2025 incident that claimed the life of a five-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry.

His attorney, Gabe Banks of Banks Weaver Law Firm, confirmed the dismissal in September 2026, nearly a year after the tragic event unfolded.

The situation escalated quickly after police received a 911 call from Harrison Parker, the neighbor whose dog was attacked.

Doorbell camera footage captured Gibson’s massive dogs roaming freely through the neighborhood and scratching at a nearby door just minutes before Henry was mauled.

What made the case particularly damaging for Gibson was the pattern of negligence leading up to the attack.

Police had documented five separate incidents in the week and a half before the killing where his dogs were reported running loose, and authorities had issued multiple warnings to the actor about controlling his animals.

The liability was undeniable.

Gibson wasn’t home when it happened, but he didn’t dodge responsibility.

Through his legal team, he expressed genuine remorse, stating he was “shocked, devastated, and heartbroken for the family affected.”

He emphasized his empathy, saying, “As an empath, my heart hurts deeply for their unimaginable loss, and I’ve been trying to reach out directly to express my sorrow and condolences.”

The actor also made the difficult decision to rehome all four adult Cane Corsos and their three puppies to safe, loving homes, recognizing that keeping them posed too great a liability risk.

Gibson’s statement highlighted his four decades as a dog lover and his insistence that he’d never trained any of his animals to harm anyone.

According to CBS News Atlanta, the actor turned himself in and was booked at Fulton County Jail before being released on bond in October 2025.

The diversion program he completed allowed him to avoid a criminal conviction while still taking accountability for the incident.

His legal team emphasized that Gibson had been actively attempting to reach out to Parker’s family since learning of the tragedy, hoping they might eventually find it in their hearts to forgive him.
