Wiz Khalifa Returns To Warner With Two More Diamond Records

Wiz Khalifa has two more Diamond records to celebrate as he returns to the Warner Music Group family through 10K Projects.

His team announced 12 new RIAA certifications, led by Diamond honors for “Black and Yellow” and “Young, Wild, & Free” with Snoop Dogg. The same announcement puts “See You Again,” featuring Charlie Puth, at 16-times Platinum.

The list reaches back to his first major-label album, Rolling Papers, which arrived in 2011. “Black and Yellow,” “Roll Up” and “No Sleep” were all part of that breakthrough and now appear together in his team’s certification update.

Other hits also got upgrades. “Sucker for Pain,” with Lil Wayne and Imagine Dragons, reached six-times Platinum. “Work Hard, Play Hard” and “Roll Up” are now four-times Platinum. “No Sleep” reached three-times Platinum.

“Hopeless Romantic,” featuring Swae Lee, reached double Platinum. The Platinum list also includes two albums: Rolling Papers 2 and Mac & Devin Go To High School, his joint project with Snoop. “Bake Sale” and “FR FR,” featuring Lil Skies, reached the same level.

Earlier this month, Khalifa appeared in an Inked cover interview. That conversation predates this announcement.

The career milestones come as a label reunion is already underway. The release confirms his previously announced signing with 10K Projects and a return to working with Marsha St. Hubert, his former project manager and now the label’s president.

“It’s good to be home!” Khalifa said in the signing announcement.

His Warner ties go back to a brief Warner Records deal at 18. His team says he signed with Atlantic Records at 22. The move pairs him again with an executive who worked with him during that earlier chapter.

“I’m excited to welcome Wiz back home to WMG as we reunite to embark on a new era together at 10K Projects,” St. Hubert said. “From day one, Wiz has not only been one of the most innovative and talented artists I’ve ever worked with but one of the most stand up guys you can meet.”

The announcement does not disclose the deal’s value, length or ownership terms.
