Yella Beezy Murder-For-Hire Trial In Mo3 Shooting Pushed Back Months

Yella Beezy won’t be stepping into the courtroom just yet. The Dallas rapper’s capital murder trial got pushed back after his legal team asked for more time, and the judge agreed.

Jury selection was supposed to kick off Monday, but Judge Chika Anyiam granted the defense motion for continuance, meaning the whole thing’s on hold for at least another month or two.

Here’s what happened.

Yella Beezy’s attorneys said they needed their expert witnesses available, and those folks aren’t free for the next couple of weeks.

They also need the trial transcript from Kewon White’s case to review before things get rolling.

White’s the gunman who got convicted of capital murder earlier this month for shooting rival rapper MO3 on I-35 back in 2020.

The court reporter will need about 30 days to prepare the transcript, and the defense asked for two more weeks after that to read through it.

The prosecutors didn’t fight it. Both sides agreed this made sense, especially since they’re coordinating federal witnesses too.

According to FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth, no new trial date has been set yet, so everybody’s basically waiting on paperwork and scheduling at this point.

Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Conway, is facing capital murder charges for allegedly hiring White to take out MO3, whose real name was Melvin Noble.

The two rappers had been beefing for years, and prosecutors say Conway paid White $40,000 to handle the hit. White got life in prison without parole.

A third defendant, Devin Brown, is also charged in the case. Conway pleaded not guilty and denied any involvement.

The 2020 ambush on the highway was brutal and public, and it’s been a major case in Dallas ever since.

The MO3 murder case has drawn serious attention from the local Hip-Hop community and beyond. White’s conviction came down just days before jury selection was supposed to start for Conway’s trial, which is why the timing’s so tight right now.
