YG Confronts Himself

YG tied family, street and business problems to his own behavior while discussing his effort to change with Damien Scott on Boardroom‘s “On Record.”

“I realized a lot of my issues and problems come from within. Self-inflicted.”

That struggle had already shaped The Gentlemen’s Club, as GQ described. On “Hitman,” the target turned out to be YG himself. Songs including “Ready to Die” and “Insecure” put his doubts into the music, making his own state of mind central to the record’s plot.

The magazine’s account of his June show at West Hollywood’s Roxy Theater described a performance of the full album with YG and his crew in suits. Fans had been asked to dress up too. Onstage, he discussed feeling overlooked and being pushed by people close to him to improve.

His guests kept the West Coast connections in place. Shoreline Mafia joined “Hollywood,” while Tyler, The Creator appeared on “On the Low.” Pusha T teamed with him for “OMG.” The personal material sat alongside those collaborations.

Released June 19, 2026, The Gentlemen’s Club ran 15 songs and 54 minutes, according to Apple Music’s catalog. The credits listed 4Hunnid Music under an exclusive license to 10K Projects. That followed the Def Jam period that ended with 2022’s I Got Issues, then a joint project with Tyga and another entry in his Just Re’d Up mixtape series.

That was a change from the Def Jam rollout for My Krazy Life in 2014. AllHipHop covered the album’s Atlanta listening session at Patchwerk Studios in 2014, when Def Jam played it for DJs, executives and media ahead of its March 18 release.

Jeezy and DJ Mustard explained the work behind the project at that event and compared it to Dr. Dre’s The Chronic.

The new album also got a stage rollout. The July 21, 2026 announcement for “The Gentlemen’s Club Tour” mapped out 19 cities, starting September 10 in Boston and ending November 7 in Honolulu. Mozzy and Chef Boy were named as support, with Kalan.FrFr and Natalie Nunn on select dates. The announced route included a Los Angeles show at Crypto.com Arena.
