Yung Miami’s “Martin Luther King” Birthday Request Has Me Cracking Up

Hold on! Yung Miami is a shapeshifter to me. Sometimes I’m looking right at her and don’t immediately realize it’s Caresha. One minute, she’s giving celebrity. The next, she looks like somebody I might run into around the way. I don’t mean that negatively, either. Sometimes she just looks familiar.
I’m going somewhere with this.
Recently, I saw a clip of her talking to Looze Cannon, the entertainer doing those hilarious Michael Jackson impressions on TikTok. You know who I’m talking about. Big Michael Michael!
Anyway, Caresha wanted him to sing “Happy Birthday” to her. But she had a particular version in mind. She wanted the “Martin Luther King version.”
Now, hold on! The Martin Luther King version?!
Looze Cannon caught on quickly. She meant Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday,” the one a lot of us immediately recognize once that chorus gets going.
The way she described it, followed by his reaction, was enough for me. Sometimes the funniest moments happen when somebody is being completely serious.
Big Michael Michael caught on quickly. She meant Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday.” Now, I have never, ever in my long-legged life heard somebody think Dr. King sang a birthday song. MLK on lead vocals is different! Caresha is not the sharpest knife in the kitchen.
And yet that’s where Looze Cannon comes in. His reaction and timing made the whole thing funnier. Sometimes you don’t have to write a joke. Somebody hands you the material, and you just have to know what to do with it. He did that.
She took the scenic route to Stevie Wonder, but she got us there. LOL! TF!

Now, let’s talk about Looze Cannon. This man is funny enough that I hope he has the right people helping him turn this attention into something sustainable. His official website identifies him as a recording artist, streamer, producer, DJ and comedic personality. That explains why he seems so comfortable mixing music with whatever foolishness happens on a livestream.
I know he raps, but I can also see him doing more comedy. The timing, the reactions, the ability to take somebody else’s unexpected comment and run with it. There’s something there.
And Caresha gave him something to work with.
The comments I saw were not letting her live, either. I won’t call her stupid over this one. You can,but I won’t. We can laugh at this and keep it pushing.
Here is some history for the people.
Stevie Wonder released “Happy Birthday” on his 1980 album Hotter Than July, using music to rally support for a federal holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I did not realize it was THAT long ago. The album also included an appeal asking listeners to support the effort of making the King’s birthday into law. Wonder joined a broader movement that included Coretta Scott King and lawmakers pushing for recognition. The first federal observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day took place in January 1986. That familiar birthday chorus carries a civil rights legacy. I hope Caresha’s reading this.
Watch the clip above and tell me what you think in the comments.
Let’s jam to Big Michael Michael!
