Yung Miami’s Scam Inspiration Nabbed By Feds

“Where my scammin’ a## ninjas at?”

JAIL.

Honeybun Boyz just became the name attached to a sprawling federal fraud case involving an alleged $20 million operation, luxury living and a curious proximity to Miami’s party scene.

Oh yeah – this is deep and going to get deeper.

Federal investigators say the South Florida scam network was connected to elaborate financial schemes involving phishing links, fraudulent bank calls, stolen banking information and account takeovers. A-29 page criminal complaint reportedly identifies 12 defendants facing conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering charges.

That name? Yep. There is more to this and we still have to get into young Miami.

Anyway, the name itself apparently tells you plenty. According to the federal complaint, a “honeybun” can refer to a $100,000 bankroll. Investigators allege members displayed those massive stacks while money moved through a hierarchy of controllers, handlers and money mules. Authorities identified as many as 30 South Florida victims, including elderly people.

This is major and, if true, terrible.

Investigators say proceeds were connected to purchases at Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton and a luxury Miami watch dealer. Sigh. Two suspects were also accused of putting money toward a Miami Lakes home worth nearly $1 million.

Now comes the Hip-Hop angle.

Names associated online with the Honeybun Boyz have included social media figures and rappers. A.J., identified by authorities as Arthur Lee Johnson III, also became part of another sad Miami story. He and 21 year old influencer Brianna “DreamDoll Brii” Johnson were fatally wounded after a white sedan pulled alongside their fluorescent green Lamborghini in Miramar and opened fire in July. Police described the attack as targeted, but no motive was really established or linked to fraud or a $100,000 scam.

Then there is Yung Miami.

Stories circulating around the Honeybun Boyz connect the crew’s party scene to an appearance by Yung Miami at a Miami club event. I have not found documentation establishing that she knew anything about alleged criminal activity. Smells odd though. More importantly, I found no real link that her hit record “Spend Dat” was specifically created as a tribute to the crew. And YET…the timing is CRA-ZY!

But the coincidence has the streets talking.

“Spend Dat” was just released in April 2026 and clearly embraces Miami’s scammer life. There’s even an official “Scammer Version.”

That does not connect Yung Miami to the federal case. However, there’s a lifestyle that is linked somehow.

“Honeybuns” ain’t so sweet now.
