Roadblock Radio
Afrobeats Radio, Live and Free
Lagos and Accra sitting next to Kingston and Port of Spain, mixed the way a Caribbean party actually plays them.
Afrobeats does not have its own walled-off hour on this station, and that is deliberate. It sits inside the mixes, next to dancehall and soca, because that is where it sits in a room full of people dancing.
The clearest place to hear it is International Mix with DJ Den on Saturday nights, which moves between afrobeats, reggae and dancehall across two hours. Beyond that, it turns up through the weekday drive time mixes and the weekend sets.
If you want it as a genre station, this is not one. If you want it played by people who understand how it connects to Caribbean music, this is the right dial.
