Roadblock Radio
Caribbean Radio in Virginia
Northern Virginia, Richmond and Hampton Roads get the full broadcast over the internet, free and around the clock.
Online only in Virginia. The stream, the apps and the smart speakers all carry the full broadcast.
Virginia's Caribbean population is spread out, from Alexandria and Woodbridge in the north to Norfolk and Virginia Beach on the coast, and a broadcast signal was never going to hold all of it together. A stream does.
The schedule is the same one New York hears, on the same Eastern clock, which is the useful part for a listener in Richmond. Morning Grind through the middle of the day, the drive time mixes in the evening, and the late reggae hours after that.
Free to listen, in a browser, in the free apps, or by asking a smart speaker for Roadblock Radio.

What plays
Reggae
Roots, rocksteady, lovers rock and the singers carrying it now. Culture Time and Back To Basics are where the catalogue lives.
Dancehall
The current riddims and the ones that built them, mixed live by DJs who play the parties as well as the radio.
Soca
Trinidad, Barbados, Antigua and the whole carnival calendar. Island Vibez and Roadblock Island Mix run it every week.
Afrobeats
Lagos and Accra sitting next to Kingston and Port of Spain, the way they sit next to each other in a Caribbean party.
Reggaeton and Latin urban
DJ B19 takes Saturday evenings for the Latin urban hour, so the dial does not stop at the English-speaking Caribbean.
Talk and community
Community Connection on Sunday afternoons, and Wealth Mornings With Jen every weekday at noon.
